Ways to Improve Solar Energy Systems
Solar cells are the life
blood of solar photovoltaic systems. There has been research done on ways to
improve the solar cell cost effectiveness and efficiency, in order to increase
the conversion rates of the sun rays to electrical currents.

Introduction of Light-sensitive Materials: There
has been an introduction of light-sensitive materials know as colloidal quantum
dots. They are less expensive and more versatile materials for solar cells. These
nanopaticle materials contain n and p type semiconductors that increase light absorption
efficiently.

Energy Storage Advancement:
There has been an invention of how to store the harnessed solar energy, without
losing it immediately after the weather changes. There are batteries introduced
that last longer and store the energy for longer hours, so as to be used when needed.

Advancements in the Manufacturing processes: It is stated that, there are ways that scientists have invented in
the solar cell manufacturing process. The processes are meant to emit less or
even zero greenhouse gases that are toxic to the environment.

Molten Salt Technology: This
storage technology uses inorganic salt, which transfers the energy produced by
the solar systems, into solar thermal. Therefore, the solar plants can be able
to perform at five hundred degrees Celsius or even above that, resulting to
higher power productivity.

Solar Roadways: Scientists
are researching on ways that can provide line highways for solar panels. This
system can be designed in such a way that large amount of electricity are
delivered to the grid, overcoming the industrial range solar challenge
