John F Kennedy response to the Cuban missile crisis
John F Kennedy had an aggressive response
to the Cuban missile crisis. He said that any missile launched from Cuba to the
West should be considered to be launched by the Soviet Union itself. He
asserted that the US would not take this lightly and would response with full
retaliation. However, for thirteen days, the world saw only uncertainty. The
approach taken by him was that of a neutral approach: He did not want the
missiles to be launched but neither did he get into arguments with the Soviet
Union lest something like that happened. So he can be said to have been more or
less restrained in this case.
