Hyderabad is the fifth largest city of India and is also the capital of Andhra Pradesh which is third largest state of India. The population is more than fifty lacs and a total area of 727 square kilometres over the Deccan Plateau. Hyderabad was governed by Qutub Shahis and the city has a glorious past of almost as old as four hundred years. The capital of the then city was Bhagyanagar and it was named after the deceased wife of Quli Shah which was later honoured later as the Hyder Mahal and thus came the foundation of the city Hyderabad. The city of Hyderabad was founded on the Musi River which is five miles away on the Eastern side of Golconda which was the capital of the Quli Shahi monarchs during 1591-92 by Muhammed Quli Qutub Shah. The Qutub Shahi Empire founded the realm of Golconda which is one amongst the five dominions that grew after the breakdown of the Bahamani Empire. For one hundred and seventeen year the Qutub Shahis ruled the Deccan and they all were great architects. The Shahis encouraged the development of culture and literature of the Indo-Persian and Indo-Islamic. During this time Golconda became the hub of economic commerce and it was the leading market in precious jewels like diamond, pearls and also the manufacturer of steel for the armour hands and also a leading textile and printed fabrics. Aurangzeb conquered Golconda in the year 1687 and seized it from Abul Hasan Tana Shah.

Almost after two hundred years the Nizams were the rulers of Hyderabad and were allies of the British India and the last Nizam gave the opportunity to the city to grow into a developing city and it was the largest princely state of the country.Telugu is widely spoken language in Hyderabad among the other languages like the English, Urdu and Hindi which are the other popular spoken language. Mostly English is spoken for commercial transaction and even the vendors on the street can converse in English and since English is an international language there is no difficulty in communication or miscommunication. The weather is generally very pleasant and Hyderabad can be visited all through the year just the peak summer make is a bit uncomfortable since the temperature may rise as high as 42 degrees Celsius during the day time and making the evening breezy and pleasant again since it has the influence of the mountain range.

The city of Hyderabad is also known as the city of smiles, of lights and is very lovingly called as the Pearl City. Hyderabad offers a large number of tourist attractions and it is a delight for the shoppers. The city has a mix of an age old four hundred years of glorious past and also the right amount of being a cosmopolitan as well. Some of its attractions for the tourist is the Charminar, the Mecca masjid inside the yards of the Charminar, Lad Bazar the Golconda Fort offers light and sound shows with full narration of its past. The Qutub Shahi Tomb just a kilometre away from the Banjara Darwaza of the Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradri, the Birla Temple, Salar Jung Museum, Nehru Zoological Park, Andhra Pradesh State Archaeological Museum, the Hussainnagar Lake, Shilparamam, Hitech city is the new thing to boast about Hyderabad hosting a huge number of IT companies and the Cyber Tower is the main building, the Mir Alam tank, the Durgam Cheruvu, the silver jubilee museum of the Nizam, the Chow moholla palace, the KBR national Park, Mahavir Harin Vansthali National Park, Chilkur Balaji Temple, Mrugavani National Park, Shamirpet, Osmansagar lake, Hyderabad botanical gardens.
Hyderabad is famous for the delectable Hyderabadi Biryani it serves. Almost it is like the staple for the tourist, one must try before leaving the city as it is rich in aroma and Indian spices. Apart from this special attraction Ramoji Film city is a must visit for the extravagant sets it in houses for various film shooting, Paradise I max , Mount Opera, Dhola ri Dhani ,Ocean park and Runway Nine the largest and the first and only international go caring race track in India. Hyderabad is the fourth largest credit centre all across India and sixth largest deposit centre has been ranked by the Reserve Bank of India in a survey of 2012. It is the centre for global setting of diamonds and Hyderabad has the largest number of State employed workers like no other States in the country. Hyderabad has a huge number of workforces almost 30% which is enforced into the labour force.in the nature of informal economy.
Hyderabad is the seat of literature, art, media and culture and also has thirteen universities and among them two private university and two deemed universities. Osmania University is the first centre for education to be set up and was established in the year 1918. The city has Business management schools as well and the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India.
Hyderabad hosted the national and international sports events such as the National Games of India in the year 2002 and the 2003 Afro Asian Games .It is the home ground and stadium of the Hyderabad Cricket Association it has also hosted the 1996 ICC Cricket World Cup and the Hydrabad cricket team which represents the city in the Ranji trophies. International Tennis player Sania Mirza, badminton ace Jwala Gutta, Gopichand and Saina Nehwal all hail from this royal city along with VVS Lakshman and rifle shooter Gagan Narang and Asher Noria and body builder Mir M Ali Khan.
