Bangalore
has evolved as the city to be the spine of the Karnataka industry with the
occurrence of the state owned enterprises. The IT city has an electronic city
in Bommasandra and the It Park has software enterprises which grew on the not
so urban Bangalore city. Huge number of multinational companies is coming into
this city with enormous investment funds because they know the IT prospects and

Bangalore
has astonishing marvels which is worth appreciating. It is the only city in
India that has both the defence and the passenger and cargo freight airlines
plying from the same air strip. Bangalore was the first city of India that had
made electricity and was the first to have electricity supplied to the entire
city when the rest of the country was still looming under darkness. It is the
most sanitised city with all proper health and hygiene conditions kept in mind
by the civic authorities. The richest people of the country live in Bangalore
hence giving away to the line of poverty as compared to many cities of the
world. The Botanical Garden named as the Lalbagh is recognised as having the
most varied human made assortment of flora. It has produced the maximum number
of scientists who are eligible for the being nominated for the Nobel Prize and
in USA it has 60% of the Indian population only from the city of Bangalore. It
is compared with Paris in terms of fashion and style statements with densest
traffic in the country and it can only survive because it has the most
efficient police force and the second best police after the New Delhi Police.
The city has progressed and its growth is appreciable in the last two decades
having 41% of the entire population of Kannadigas only and hence it is the most
cosmopolitan city of India.
Bangalore
has the most pleasant type of climate which cannot be found elsewhere in the
country April being the warmest month with
temperature just above 30 degrees Celsius and January being the winter
month with a bearable chill of just 15 degrees Celsius. Rains are more often
and July to September marks the monsoon for the city. Throughout the year it’s
a very refreshing type of weather and is the coolest city of the country.
Bangalore
has a total land area of 468 square kilometres with a population of approximate
6.5 million and is 3000 feet above sea level. Auto Rickshaws are the most
popular mode of transport along with buses frequenting the entire city. A
literacy rate of above 89% is something remarkable to achieve and no wonder the
reasons to produce so many scientists. The international airport is situated at
Devanahalli and around 420 flights operate in a week in Bangalore. The city can
also be reached by the network of Indian railways and has two major railway
junctions the Bangalore city and the cantonment. A well-networked and
maintained bus stand along with the on time bus services makes Bangalore bus

along with the private buses.
There
are a number of places to visit in and around Bangalore and among them Tipu
Sultan’s summer place is a must visit for its intricate architecture and the
royal construction to make it the most comfortable place for a Sultan to stay.
Vidhan and Vikas Soudha are yet another attraction of the city, Lal Baugh,
Cubbon park, Bangalore Palace and Attara kacheri few other places of interest
along with Karnataka folk museum, Government museum and the Gandhi Bhavan holds
the importance of the city’s glorious past. Ulsoor Lake, Yediyur and Sankey
tank are the three major water bodies that serves the purpose of water supply
to the city along with its adjoining border cities as well. Cariappa Memorial
park has a lush green forest cover giving rise and time for the development of
the flora and fauna. Bull Temple at Basavangudi, the Banashankari temple, Dodda
Ganesh Temple, Shiv murti on the airport road , Kadu Mallikarjunaswamy temple,
Gavi Gangadareshwara temple, Dharmaya mandir , Prasanna Veeranjenaya temple ,
The ISKON temple, Sugreeva Venkateshwara temple , Kanakaparameshwari temple ,
Venketaramanswamy temple ,Sikh Gurudwara,Jumma masjid , Tawakkal mastan and the
St. Patricks Church are few of the most important places of religious interest
in the city of Bangalore.
